License and Devices

Your license key

Your license key is emailed to you at checkout by Lemon Squeezy, the platform that processes our payments. It looks like XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX. Keep that email: the key is your proof of purchase.

Every plan is a one-time purchase with lifetime usage and full features access. The plans differ only in how many Macs the key activates:

• Essential: one license included, 1 macOS device.
• Advanced: two licenses included, 2 macOS devices.
• Ultimate: three licenses included, 3 macOS devices, plus priority support.

Activating a Mac

Paste the key into the onboarding window, or later into Settings. Activation registers this Mac with Lemon Squeezy under its computer name and uses one of your plan's devices. "Your license has been activated!" means you are done.

The online check

WhisperWizard re-checks the license with Lemon Squeezy about every 10 minutes while it runs. If the check fails you see "Your WhisperWizard License Key is not valid." and the app returns to the onboarding screen so you can enter the key again.

• WhisperWizard needs an internet connection anyway: transcription runs on OpenAI.
• A short network drop is not a problem; the next successful check clears it.
• The check sends your license key and this Mac's activation, nothing about your recordings.

Moving to a new Mac

If you see "This license key has reached the activation limit.", every device on your plan is in use. To move the license to a new Mac, email [email protected] from your purchase address with the old Mac's name. We free the seat and you activate the new one. Upgrading to a plan with more Macs works the same way: ask, and we will sort it out by hand.

Updates

Every plan includes 1 year of updates. WhisperWizard checks for a new version about once an hour, and asks whether you want to update now when one is out. Say yes and it downloads in the background, then tells you "Updates downloaded, the application will restart to apply the update."

To update by hand, download the latest build from the download page and drag it over the old app in Applications; your settings, templates and history stay. The changelog lists every release.

Refunds

If you're not happy with your purchase, you can get your money back. Just send us an email at [email protected] within 14 days after your purchase to ask for a refund. The refund policy has the details.
