Use case

A Break from the Keyboard, and the words keep coming.

Rest your hands and wrists while your voice keeps the words flowing.

Works with plain dictation and every spellBrowse the Spellbook

The moment

Typing is a tax on every thought. Your voice is not.

If your hands, wrists, or shoulders set the limit on your workday, typing is a tax on every thought. Dictation is not a workaround here - for a lot of people it is simply faster, and it is how the words keep flowing on days the keyboard cannot.

You say
“Draft the agenda for Friday - budget review first, then the hiring update, fifteen minutes each.”
It lands as
The text where your cursor is, typed by your voice - your hands stay off the keyboard and the work still gets done.

No template needed - every template works hands-free - the break is the point.

One recording, both versions

Say it like this. Send it like that.

The raw transcript on the left is what Whisper hears. The right is what lands at your cursor. History keeps both, with the audio, on your Mac.

Raw transcript

Whisper's text, as you said it.

How it plays out

Four beats, no typing.

  1. 1

Put your cursor where the text goes

Any Mac app with a text field: mail, chat, a doc, a form. WhisperWizard remembers which app was in front.

  2. 2

    Press ⌥⇧Space and talk

Plain dictation, no template. Or press any template hotkey to shape the words on the way in.

  3. 3

    Press ⌥Esc to stop

Whisper transcribes on your OpenAI account and the text comes straight back.

  4. 4

It lands, your clipboard comes back

The text is pasted where your cursor was, your previous clipboard is restored, and History keeps both versions with the audio.

Tips

Get more from every take.

  • Toggle, not hold

Press the shortcut once to start and once to stop. You never keep a key held down while you talk.

  • One key does the whole loop

A template hotkey records, rewrites and pastes, so the edit pass happens without the keyboard too.

  • Rebind to what is comfortable

Every shortcut can be changed in Settings, so pick combinations that suit your hands.

Questions

Asked out loud.

Can I use it without touching the keyboard at all?

Almost. You press a shortcut to start and another to stop (⌥⇧Space and ⌥Esc by default, or one template hotkey), and you can rebind them. Everything between those two presses is your voice.

Is WhisperWizard an accessibility or medical product?

No. It is a dictation app for the Mac. If your hands or wrists set the limit on your day, it can mean far fewer keystrokes, but it is not a treatment and makes no medical claim.

Five more

Other ways to skip the typing.

All six use cases

WhisperWizard is macOS only (10.13 or newer on Intel, 11 or newer on Apple Silicon) and runs on your own OpenAI API key - your recordings go straight to OpenAI, we never see or store them on our servers (History keeps its copy on your Mac). The honest comparison says when built-in dictation is already enough.

One Shortcut, Your Templates.

Every plan includes unlimited custom templates, recording history, and all features - one-time purchase, lifetime usage, and a 14-day money‑back guarantee.
