Speak First, Pick the Shape After.

A WhisperWizard template is an OpenAI prompt bound to its own shortcut. Record your voice, press the shortcut, and your words come back in exactly the format you designed. These six are starting points - copy one, adapt it, or write your own inside the app.

Starter library

Six spells, free to copy.

Each card is the whole prompt. Copy it into a new template in the app and give it a hotkey. The copy ends with {{voice}}, the line the app fills with what you said.

Six on this page, the same six built into the app, and as many of your own as you like.

Try them

One sentence, six spells.

The same ramble, cast through every spell in the Spellbook. Click a key, or press ⌃⌥1 to ⌃⌥6 while this page has focus.

Every output here is a hand-written example that follows its spell's prompt word for word. In the app, the text lands wherever your cursor was, and your clipboard comes back afterwards.

You, out loud

um so tell Sam the deck's gonna be late, uh, the numbers aren't in yet so maybe Friday? and ask if we can move the board call to Monday

Hi Sam,

Quick heads-up: the deck is going to be late. The numbers aren't in yet, so Friday is the realistic target.

Could we move the board call to Monday?

Put a spell in the app

  1. 1

    Copy the spell

The copy ends with {{voice}}, the line where your words go.

  2. 2

    Create a template

Click the menu bar icon, choose History and Templates, open the Templates tab and add a new template.

  3. 3

    Paste and pick a model

Paste the prompt, give it a name, an icon and a colour, and choose the OpenAI model it runs on.

  4. 4

    Bind a hotkey

Press the shortcut you want in the shortcut box. One keystroke now records, rewrites and pastes.

Templates also take a name, an icon and one of 21 colours, so the palette stays readable as your Spellbook grows.

Can I create my own spells (templates) to improve my recordings?

Yes. A template, or spell, is your own prompt that runs on your OpenAI API key, bound to its own hotkey. You can create as many as you want, each with its own prompt, model and shortcut.

Why does the copied spell end with {{voice}}?

WhisperWizard swaps {{voice}} for the transcript of your recording, then sends the whole prompt to OpenAI. Keep it in the prompt: without it, your words never reach the model. The six templates that ship with the app end the same way.

Which hotkeys do the spells use?

Any free shortcut you record in the template's shortcut box. The ⌃⌥ numbers on these cards are suggestions: the six built-in templates use ⌃⌥1 to ⌃⌥6 by default, so rebind one of them or pick a new combination. ⌥Space opens the palette when you would rather search than remember.

What do I need to start using WhisperWizard?

You will need the following to use WhisperWizard: an OpenAI API key, a WhisperWizard license key, and a Mac with macOS 10.13 or newer (Intel) or macOS 11 or newer (Apple Silicon).

Templates Are One Shortcut Away.
