The paste, beat by beat

It goes back to where you started.

You never copy, switch or paste. WhisperWizard remembers which app you were in when you pressed the shortcut, and that is where the words land.
  1. 1Option Shift Space

    It notes the app

The moment you press a shortcut, WhisperWizard remembers which app is in front.

  2. 2

    You speak

Talk as long as you need. Glance at another window if you like; the paste still knows where to go.

  3. 3Command V

    It pastes

Your app comes back to the front and the finished text is pasted at the cursor, as if you typed it.

  4. 4

    It tidies up

Your clipboard gets back whatever you had copied before, and the recording is saved to History.

Clipboard restored

Your clipboard, left as you had it.

Auto-paste works through the clipboard, the way you would. Then WhisperWizard puts back what you had copied, so the link you were about to paste is still waiting.

A small thing, until the day it saves you hunting for that link again.

  2. 02 · The paste

Hi Sam, quick heads-up: the deck is going to be late. Could we move the board call to Monday?

Mail is focused again, then ⌘V

  3. 03 · A moment later

Put back. Paste it again if you like

If it has a cursor, it lands there.

Illustrative, not partnerships. WhisperWizard pastes the way you would, so anything that accepts ⌘V works.

Permissions

Three permissions, and why.

macOS asks once for each, the first time they are needed. You can review them any time in System Settings, Privacy and Security.
How to grant them
  • Microphone

So the recorder can hear you. Nothing is recorded until you press a shortcut.

  • Accessibility

So WhisperWizard can press ⌘V for you. macOS asks before any app may type for you.

  • Automation (System Events)

So WhisperWizard can bring the app you were in back to the front, and the paste lands in the right window.

  • Rather paste it yourself?

Copy any result from the app or from History. You will see “The text has been copied into your clipboard.” and it is yours to paste wherever you like.
