Anatomy of a spell

A prompt, a hotkey, and your voice.

A template is an OpenAI prompt with a slot called {{voice}}. Press its hotkey, speak, and WhisperWizard drops your transcript into the slot, runs the prompt on your OpenAI account and pastes the answer at your cursor.
  • Customize a prompt for your unique tasks.
  • Create a quick-access shortcut for your templates.
  • Pick the OpenAI model each template runs on.

You, out loud

um so tell Sam the deck's gonna be late, uh, the numbers aren't in yet so maybe Friday? and ask if we can move the board call to Monday

To: Sam Subject: Re: Board deck

Hi Sam,

Quick heads-up: the deck is going to be late. The numbers aren't in yet, so Friday is the realistic target.

Could we move the board call to Monday?

Built in

Six ship with the app.

Open the palette with ⌥Space, or skip it and press the template's own key. Every built-in template also strips the filler words: the “um”, the “uh”, the “hmmm”.

The starter Spellbook

Six starters, free to copy.

The built-in templates are already in your app. Starter spells are the published prompts: copy one (it already ends with {{voice}}), paste it into a new template and give it a hotkey. Reach for one when you want to change what a built-in does, such as translating into a language other than the built-in The Translator.
  • Control Option 1

    The Polished Reply

Speak your answer to an email, get back a message ready to send.

Rewrite my words into a clear, friendly email reply. Keep my meaning and my tone, fix the grammar, and tighten any rambling sentences. Output only the email body - no subject line, no sign-off unless I dictated one.

  • Control Option 2

    The Translator

Dictate in one language, paste polished text in another.

Translate what I said into natural, conversational French. Match the register I used - formal where I was formal, casual where I was casual. Output only the translation.

    The Outliner

Turn a spoken brain dump into a structure you can write from.

Turn this stream of thoughts into a structured outline. Group related points under short headings, use bullets, and keep my own wording where it is already clear. Add nothing I did not say.

  • Control Option 4

    The Tone Shift

Say it bluntly, send it warmly - for delicate replies.

Rewrite my words in a warmer, more professional tone suitable for a colleague or client. Keep it concise and keep every point I made - only the delivery changes.

  • Control Option 5

    The Journal Keeper

Speak freely, keep a clean first-person entry of your day.

Shape this into a first-person journal entry. Keep my voice and the honest details, fix grammar only, and end with one sentence naming what mattered most about it.

  • Control Option 6

    The Action Extractor

Ramble about the project, walk away with a checklist.

Pull the action items and decisions out of what I said. Format them as a checklist - one per line, verb first - followed by a short list of open questions. Nothing else.

Write your own

Four habits of a good spell.

  1. 01

    Start with the job

Open with a verb: rewrite, translate, pull out, shape. The model reads the first line hardest.

  2. 02

Put {{voice}} where your words go

WhisperWizard swaps it for the transcript before the prompt runs, so it can sit anywhere in the text.

  3. 03

    Name the shape

An email body, a checklist, three bullets, one paragraph. Say it and you get it, every time.

  4. 04

    Fence it in

End with a guardrail like “Output only the translation” or “Add nothing I did not say.”

Each template keeps a name, an icon in one of 21 colours, its model and its shortcut. Edit any of them later; nothing is locked.

Questions

About templates.

Can I create my own spells (templates) to improve my recordings?

Yes. A template, or spell, is your own prompt that runs on your OpenAI API key, bound to its own hotkey. You can create as many as you want, each with its own prompt, model and shortcut.
