Version 1.0.4 Latest
Fewer outbound calls
Released on
A privacy release. The app now talks to even fewer services.
Changed
- Removed Sentry error reporting from the app. WhisperWizard no longer sends crash reports anywhere. The only outbound calls left are OpenAI (your transcription and templates), Lemon Squeezy (the license check) and GitHub (updates).
Known issues
- The temperature ("creativity level") slider is saved with each template but not sent to OpenAI, so templates run at OpenAI's default. Tighten the prompt to steer the output.
- The model list in the template editor offers OpenAI's older chat models.
Version 1.0.3
The first public release
Released on
The first build published on GitHub Releases, for Apple Silicon and Intel. It ships the whole core of WhisperWizard, plus the fixes from a month of hardening before launch.
In the box
- Global shortcuts: ⌥⇧Space to record, ⌥Esc to stop, ⌥Space for the template palette, all rebindable in Settings.
- Unlimited templates with a {{voice}} prompt, a model, an icon and colour, and an optional global shortcut each.
- Six built-in templates on ⌃⌥1 to ⌃⌥6: Polished Reply, Translator, Outliner, Tone Shift, Journal Keeper and Action Extractor.
- Auto-paste back into the app you were in, with your previous clipboard restored afterwards.
- Local history with the original and processed transcripts side by side, audio playback, copy and delete.
- Your own OpenAI API key, checked before it is saved. No WhisperWizard server.
Fixed and improved
- The template palette now focuses its search field as soon as it opens, and scrolling no longer swallows the arrow keys.
- Changing the template palette shortcut in Settings now takes effect, with a clear message when macOS refuses a combination.
- Pasting is more reliable: the clipboard is restored after a slightly longer pause, so the paste never races it.
- Automatic updates now come from GitHub Releases, checked about once an hour.
- Signed and notarized for macOS under the app identifier com.whisperwizard.app. Developer tools are off in release builds.
